Cardiac Wellness Institute is delighted to collaborate with IIT Madras for “Hridayam”, the social campaign of Shaastra 2027, dedicated to increasing awareness on heart health and empowering people to prevent cardiovascular diseases through a healthy lifestyle. Through this joint initiative, we aim to inspire young people to play an active role in keeping themselves physically and mentally fit and in building healthier communities.
As the first step, Dr. Priya Chockalingam delivered a session on “Stress Management for a Healthy Heart” for the students of IIT Madras on 25 October 2026. The session covered the role of emotional well-being in heart health, acute and chronic stress responses, and practical strategies and techniques for managing stress. The enthusiastic participation and interaction from students made the session truly engaging.
Continuing this meaningful collaboration, team Shaastra visited our centre on 31 October 2026. They interacted with our cardiac rehabilitation patients and listened to their inspiring recovery journeys. The students’ thoughtful gifts and handwritten notes to our survivors made the visit especially heartwarming, highlighting the importance of empathy, encouragement, and human connection in recovery.

We eagerly look forward to the Hridayam Heart Health Screening Camp scheduled to take place at IIT Madras during the tech fest Shaastra in January 2027. We plan to perform a comprehensive heart health assessment of the attendees during this camp and provide personalised medical care for those at high risk of heart diseases.
Together, let us build a heart-healthy generation and a better tomorrow!
