Our recent corporate heart-health awareness programs a huge success

Corporate employees are at a high risk for heart attack due to a combination of lifestyle factors such as prolonged sitting, sedentary jobs, chronic mental stress, unhealthy dietary habits, inadequate sleep, tobacco use and excessive alcohol consumption. Creating awareness about the risk factors for heart diseases and empowering them with preventive strategies are therefore essential to promote heart-health in the workplace and beyond.

An online awareness program on “Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease through Cardiac Rehabilitation” was conducted for the employees of Infosys on 8 April 2026 by Dr. Priya Chockalingam. The session highlighted the vital role of a healthy lifestyle and periodic health checks in preventing heart disease. Furthermore, the current scientific evidence on cardiac rehabilitation in the reversal of coronary artery disease was discussed using a patient’s journey as a real-life example to demonstrate its benefits. Participants actively engaged in the session, and various queries and misconceptions regarding cardiac rehabilitation were addressed.

Another corporate heart-health awareness program titled “Heart Smart @ Work: Preventing Heart Disease Through Healthy Lifestyle and Early Detection” was conducted at the Zuora office in Chennai on 26 August 2026 by Dr. Priya Chockalingam. The program was simultaneously attended by their in-office and online teams. The session empowered attendees with practical knowledge about cardiovascular risk factors, healthy lifestyle practices, first-aid for heart attack, early detection of risk factors and reversal of cardiometabolic conditions. The participants were taught simple workstation exercises to break the monotony of continuous seated work and the program concluded with engaging discussions.
